Today, we went shopping. It was fun. Mommy bought me loads of sweaters, and some snack food too. Right now, I got cream puffs in the refridgerator, and TGIF's mozarella cheeze teasers in the freezer. :) Should cook some later. We did a little winter-coat window-shopping, but I didn't settle on anything. I'm too small. I'm a size 2. We shall go to Burlington Coat Factory next week, where there is a bigger selection than Marshall's, where we went. After loads of shopping (mostly Mom's Christmas gifts), we had nasi minyak for fast-breaking. That literally translates to oil rice, but it's a bit more complex than that.

I played with the little kid, Sohail, Abang Malik's and Kak Zahirah's son. He has this really cool new toy castle with a catapult. He had a fondness for locking everything up in the castle, however, and wouldn't let me have the little red balls used for the catapult.

I decided to go sleep since we would arrive home rather late at night, and if I didn't, I'd be rather useless.

We went back by train. It was relatively short.

Then I got to talk to Tariq on the phone! Mom bought a phone card last night to talk to Daddy back in Malaysia, and she gave me the leftover. So I got to talk to Tariq! I Love his voice. His voice is so sexy.

My skin is so dry. I had to put lotion. I hate that about New York. Everything, from the lack of precipitation to the heaters, to the wind, cause my oily skin to be dry. Then I have to take the time to moisturize it. Moisturizing shower gel isn't enough. Argh.

My mother has dragged me to Connecticut. That's where I am, stuck without ICQ or AIM. Also very sleepy.

This morning, my mother dragged me shopping for Christmas gift wrappings. We bought gift boxes and wine bags and ribbons and gift tags. She also bought some huge crystal bowl which I felt duty-bound to carry, of course. Where are the males when you want 'em.

I was so tired, I napped for the rest of the day.

We went to the Malaysian Mission for fast-breaking. I ate lots. We did lots of praying too. The religious lecture/talk was very motivational and inspiring. I felt a great need to pray five times a day and read the Qoran daily for my own salvation.

For about ten minutes.

Directly from all that praying and eating, we headed for Connecticut to sleep-over with friends, Abang Malik and Kak Zahirah and their toddling son, Sohail. Mom says we're going shopping tomorrow. We'd better, because I'm doing without talking to Tariq for this shit.

Oh yes. I'm also sleeping on the couch. We're also stuck with ONE bathroom. It's going to be a lonnng night. I miss Tariq.

I am very very sleepy, but I had a very very good day. This is thanks to Su-Queen, a queen in name and a queen in life. She is the best.

We went to watch Harry Potter. It was Su-Queen's third time, but she didn't care. She enjoyed it. So did I. I love the movie. I especially like Malfoy. So evil, yet so cute! He pulled it off beautifully. I also enjoyed the Quidditch game. If we had such a thing in real life, I would become an avid fan of it. Then again, I seem to be very fond of brutal team sports than don't involve grass.

After that we went to H&M, a clothing shop (understatement). I only intended to buy this article of clothing that caught my eye. Su-Queen, however, insisted on browsing through everything and pointing out all sorts of things to me. I have no willpower and too much money. I ended up buying a lot more than I intended to buy. I think they were all good buys, however.

After that we headed down to Queenie's room. We hung around for a bit. She took my picture on instant film. Queenie has a tendency to take pictures of me when I look horrible. She put it up online.

Later we went hunting for that mysterious ATM that would charge less. Unfortunately, we found an ATM that charged $2, and another one that charged $1.75. Bah. We ate dinner at an "Asian Bistro" called House Friend or Friend House. I forgot. Su-Queen's cousin works there. It had good food and good music for reasonable prices. After that, Su-Queen bought me ice-cream! With chocolate sprinkles. She's wonderful.

We went back to her room where the wonderful, generous, insane Su-Queen offered to pay for a phone-call all the way to London, to my boyfriend! So I got to hear his voice. God, I Love him so much. His voice is beautiful and soo sexy. I was so happy to hear him, I forgot to let Su-Queen talk to him.

Shortly after, I got very very sleepy and decided to go home before I took over Su-Queen's bed and left her with no place to sleep.

Other than phone calls with Su-Queen (and my daily chat with Tariq, of course), today was an utterly wasteful, pointless day spent reading romance novels at Barnes & Noble.

I'm starting to see that it is a good thing we don't have any such bookstores in Kuala Lumpur. Otherwise I'd never get anything done over there....

Small blessings in disguise.

Brat of a sister woke me up horribly early, of course. Well actually, I woke up by myself probably around three-ish in the morning to eat before sunrise. Had one of the frozen dinners I brought from New York.

Then I went back to sleep after a short chat with the beautiful and wonderful Significant Other. That was when the brat woke me up before she went off to classes. We determined that I would meet her at some obscure bulding in Princeton at twelve.

I spent the rest of the morning leisurely. Chatted with Fabian. Interesting. Took a shower in the communcal showers. Fascinating. Cut my nails. Comforting. Then I got hit with a great need to defecate. Must have been the partially defrosted frozen dinner.

Packed quickly and darted off to meet the Brat. I unfortunately got lost. Accosted some guy who directed me to building. Was only slightly late, thankfully.

I made sure she ate, and then I toddled off to the train station. Trip back was much much easier without a million things to lug. Today was very hot. Well, not hot by Malaysian standards, but I didn't require anything more than a t-shirt. No need for sweater, no need for coat.

I got back with just enough time to do a little surfing, that rushed off to Mom's office for fast-breaking. Mom had food from the restaurant Nyonya in Chinatown. Good food. I ate a whole roti canai by myself, and piles of chicken rice. Chicken rice gooood.

After the free meal, I excused myself and went to Barnes & Noble! However, I got distracted by Cosmetics Plus again and bought a lot more junk. Lip glosses, brushes, and cosmetic pencils of various manner.

Cosmetics and a lot less money in hand, I entered Barnes & Noble. I purchased Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. I read romance novelettes and mooned over how much I miss Tariq because we hadn't talked the whole day.

I feel much better now because I'm talking to Tariq. I have to go, however, because my mother wants to use the phone. Bye-bye!

Today, I did laundry. And I talked to Yu San and Fabian on ICQ.

Got call from my little sister. She was sick, she claimed. So I volunteered to go and visit her in Princeton University, as soon as the laundry was done.

I got a call from her again, later. She went to the doctor. Turns out she wasn't sick. She was simply starving. She was ordered to break her fast and eat. No fasting for two days. Haha. I fasted.

So I lugged around a sleeping bad, three boxes of frozen dinners, and my backpack, containing two hardback books and clothes. I went on the underground, changing lines twice to get to New York Penn Station. Got there, walked all the way to the New Jersey Transit counter, which seemed to be on the other side of the station. Found out that I didn't have enough cash to buy my tickets. So had to walk back to find an ATM machine. Then it charged me US$1.50 for the transaction. Then I walked back to the ticket counter and bought my ticket.

Perfect timing, I rushed to the gate and got onto the train. Unfortunately, I couldn't fall asleep, for some reason. So I read the book I got from my latest book club, The Multi-Orgasmic Couple. The first two chapters were very nice, but the third chapter was full of chi directing nonsense. Seems cool, but not very sexual.

Reaching Princeton Junction, I got out to transfer to another train to get to Princeton. Do not mistake Princeton Junction for Princeton, mind you. My train had been late, so I missed the earlier Princeton train, and had to wait nearly an hour for the next one.

It was 2p.m. when I left New York, but I only arrived at 4:30. Soooo tired. I broke my fast with a small bag of Crispy M&Ms.

The Brat showed up and dragged me to a meeting of the organization of some International Festival. Hey, there was free Chinese food. Unfortunately they had sweet & sour pork, instead of shrimp or something. I had lo mein and tofu.

What felt like years later, we finally got back to her room. Now, I'd like to collapse. Please excuse me.

Today, I woke up with a migraine. Sigh. Migraines are bad. I don't like migraines. I had to break fast and eat pain killers. Then no more migraine.

I spent the whole day prior to pain killers kicking in, sleeping and watching TV. The Sci-Fi channel, to be specific. They were doing an all-day program on some piece of crap called Black Scorpion. Just an excuse to see some woman in a black leather leotard driving around in a shiny black car that turns into a white car. They don't even do it as well as Viper, the other car-transforming show.

Later, I went out to Cosmetics Plus, which is sadly, shutting down. So they were selling everything at discount prices, right down to the shelves themselves. I bought a giant make-up kit in the shape of some duck/swan. It was twelve bucks, from it's orginial price of $30. Now I can easily give make-overs without hunting up all sorts of separate pieces of junk. Everything is in this one duck/swan. :)

After that, I went to Barnes & Noble, the local bookstore chain. I picked up two comic collections and headed to the cafe for dinner. Then I read Mercedes Lackey's new book, Take a Thief. Just lovely. It was a good read. Barnes & Noble kicked me out at 9p.m. and I headed home.

I have a digital camera! I have a digital camera! My Mommy bought me a digital camera! It is the size of my palm, it's so small! I can't wait to start fiddling with it. Can't do that right now, because I can only multi-task so much, and I'm blogging and talking to my boyfriend and checking my e-mail and surfing.

Argh. Read e-mail. My cat is pregnant! Argh! Sidji, the stupid psycho-maniacal cat is pregnant. I would kill her, but my boyfriend would protest. I would kill the kits in her womb, but my mother would protest. But who has to take care of them? Hahahaha. My brother, his wife, and his sister-in-law!

01:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time

I am in my New York apartment! The computer is a mess. I don't know how Mom can stand doing anything with this computer.

Anyway, the plane flight was pretty good. Long, but relaxing and non-stressing. I had little naps here and there. Somewhat sleepy now, and not very incoherent, but I must beat the jet-lag and not sleep. It's quite funny that I'm sleepy when in Malaysia I'd be wide awake at 1a.m. I guess it's because I didn't get a long, proper sleep on the flight. Not very comfortable to sleep in, economy seats.

The food, however, was amazingly delicious. The salmon, especially stands out in my head. Delicious and served with the sweetest risotto. Just lovely.

I played lots of games on the inflight entertainment system. Tetris Attack and Hangman, mostly. Well Tetris Attack, mostly, actually. I also watched Original Sin. I was apprehensive about watching it because I feared a bad, unhappy ending, but since the other movies were just bad nonsense, and this one did have Angelina Jolie in it, I had to watch it. It made me cry, though it's ending isn't a bad one. It made me miss Tariq very much.

I haven't talked to him in over twenty-four hours. Make that thirty-six hours. I miss him very very much. I can't stand it. I want him to pop up online right now and talk to me. Furthermore, I stupidly left his handphone number in Malaysia, so I can't send him an SMS. Argh. I'm an idiot.

The good news is that I hold my flight ticket to London! I am so happy that I will be visiting him. Sleepy. Mommy says I must unpack and bathe, but I'm too sleepy. I get this feeling that if I start either one, I'm going to end up just asleep. Sigh.

I'm going to go and buy lunch. Tomorrow I'll be fasting so I won't be able to buy lunch.

NOSE
by HANI Selamat

My nose is falling off
I can feel it
I can nearly see it
My nose is coming off

Don't tell me otherwise
Such words are all lies
My nose is falling off

My nose hasn't fallen yet
I've been waiting and waiting
It's still there just hanging
My nose hasn't come off yet

I couldn't wait
It got too late
So I cut my own nose off
